Our Friendly Callers program helps reduce loneliness and social isolation by matching seniors with screened and trained community volunteers for friendly phone calls twice a week. Each call lasts at least 15 minutes and provides meaningful conversation, regular socialization, and a genuine sense of connection. By volunteering as a Friendly Caller, you bring comfort, companionship, and warmth, helping seniors feel heard, valued, and less alone. Your regular phone calls can help seniors feel:
-
· Less lonely and more connected, knowing someone genuinely cares about them.
-
· Emotionally supported, through friendly conversation and consistent companionship.
-
· More confident and positive, as social interaction improves mood and well-being.
-
· Engaged with their community, reducing feelings of isolation or invisibility
