Mary Hanenburg offers tips to relax and cope during the health crisis. By practicing mindful breathing exercises and good posture you can oxygenate the body, reduce stress, and remain calmer. These breathing exercises heal the mind and body.

We offer an array of services and resources designed to reduce stress, increase mobility, and improve the quality of life for Contra Costa County's seniors. These workshops, alternative therapies, and educational sessions encourage older adults to live their lives to the fullest. They include:

MOW Diablo Region offers SNAP-Ed direct nutrition education classes; Eat Healthy, Be Active Community Workshops based on USDA Dietary Guidelines. Our classes promote nutrition, obesity prevention, and healthy lifestyle approaches for our senior population.

MOW Diablo Region offers Tai Chi for seniors. This low impact, gentle form of exercise helps seniors improve flexibility, strength, balance, and range of motion. Tai Chi is adaptable and safe for people of all ages and stages of health.

Our MOW Diablo Region Low Impact-Arthritis Foundation exercise programs are designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and body composition in a welcoming and supportive environment. Our goal is for our clients to enjoy a more active lifestyle and improve overall health and wellness.

MOW Diablo Region offers Bingocize®, an evidence-based program that combines a bingo-like game with exercise and health education. The program has been shown to increase older adults' functional fitness, health knowledge, and social engagement in a variety of settings.

Starting January 2022, MOW Diablo Region will be offering this fall prevention program designed to help maintain overall mobility, improve strength, flexibility, and reduce the risk of falls. All exercises can be done seated or standing. Resistance tubes are used for upper body strength exercises.
